Emmaus is a Christ-centered college committed to integrating the Bible in the areas of academics, student-life, and athletics. We are looking for student-athletes who are serious about their faith, want to grow closer to Jesus, and have the maturity to handle the high expectations of our program.
FUTBOL - Competitive, Committed, Quality
We are looking for players who have a high level of technical, tactical, and athletic ability, in order to achieve and maintain a great level of play. We attract players who choose Emmaus over other NCAA or NAIA programs, because of the campus environment, team culture, and intentionally positive team chemistry found in our program.
Emmaus Men's Soccer is a program of distinction that develops:
- Student-athletes that positively impact the Emmaus campus and Dubuque community, by serving others in love and sharing God's Word.
- Regionally and nationally competitive teams within the NCCAA
- Alumni that faithfully serve the Lord Jesus Christ in their families, communities, and in their local church. And alumni who maintain a lifelong relationship with Emmaus University and its future student-athletes.
FUTURE - Graduates, Leaders, Fathers
Our intent is that every Emmaus men's soccer players completes their program of study, and through their investment in academics and athletics, they grow and mature into young men who are prepared to lead with integrity and a servants-heart in their communities, workplaces, churches, and familes.
ROSTER SPOTS
We have filled some of our spots in our 2026 class but are still actively recruiting for next year. We will host Emmaus ID Clinics in December 2025, February 2026, April 2026, and August 2026 for current 10-12th Graders and College Transfers.
We are looking to bring in 10-14 field players and 1 GK in our 2026 recruiting class.
THE RECRUITING PROCESS
The team is chosen through the recruiting process as opposed to open tryouts when school starts. Therefore, it is important for interested high school student-athletes to understand both the process and the timing. The following are some steps you can take to help in the recruiting process:
1. Contact Us: Fill out our online recruiting form so we will have your information. Then follow up with a personal e-mail to Head Coach Chris McHugh at cmchugh@emmaus.edu.
2. Attend our December ID Clinic: Our December ID Clinic is a great way you to get a feel for the campus, get to know the coaches, and interact with the players. It is a good way to to be seen by the staff in the recruiting process. More information and online registration can be found on the camp website: Emmaus ID Camp.
3. Attend our April ID Clinic: Our April ID Clinic is an opportunity for Juniros + Seniors and College Transfers who have not yet committed to be seen by the Emmaus men's soccer staff and to meet our current players. 4. Attend our August ID Clinic: Our August ID Clinic is an opportunity for stidemts in Grades 10-12 to to to be seen by our staff early in the recruiting process. This is an ideal time to visit campus and meet the players just prior to the start of the school year. More information and online registration can be found on the camp website: Emmaus ID Camp.
5. Send us Tournament Schedules: If you will be attending a club tournament, then send us your game times, field locations, opponent, and jersey number.
6. Visit Campus: You can get a campus tour, meet with Admissions, and spend time with the coaching staff. Contact our Admissions Office at admissions@emmaus.edu or plan an individual Visit to Emmaus. Be sure to let our Admission staff that you wish to meet with the coaching staff.
7. Send us Highlights: Seeing your highlight clips is a helpful starting point for our recruiting process!
8. Come to a Game or Practice: It is of great benefit for you to see us play and get a first hand look at the level of play, the team's style, and the atmosphere surrounding our team!
TIMING
Junior Year - 11th grade
- We spend the fall, spring, and summer of a player's junior year to identify and evaluate players who we think would be an excellent fit for Emmaus--spiritually, academically, and athletically. By late summer/early fall the identification phase of our recruiting process is complete and we begin to offer roster spots.
Senior Year - 12th grade
- Our hope is for our future Emmaus Eagles to be making their committments prior to January 1st of their senior year.
- Our aim is for the entire recruiting class to be finalized by May 1st.
